WZIS Table Tennis
On November 29, WZIS sent eight people to take part in a table tennis tournament in Qingdao. Six were competing and the remaining two were the head coach and the cameraman. I have taken part in every table tennis competition in Qingdao and by far this year was the most difficult of all the competitions. There were many schools that joined however; I felt that the competition was with only two schools, CISQ (Confucius International School of Qingdao). The other schools posed no threats to us but CISQ. I believe we could have beaten all them if not to the fact that all of our players met at the quarterfinals. WZIS in team match got second and third place. In doubles we got the first place and in singles we got second and third. Overall it was a thrilling and nerve-racking tournament for us but the important thing was, we had lots of fun representing WZIS.
The team’s success was largely thanks to the practice they put in lunch times and at the weekend. We look forward to further success in future competitions, and we welcome new players to join our practice sessions in the auditorium at lunch time on Tuesday and Thursday each week.

On March 11, WZIS sent two middle school students to take part in a table tennis tournament in Qingdao. The students competed against several different international school which entered many talented players. WZIS placed 1st in individual and 2nd place in teams. The students enjoyed the experience thoroughly and thrived at the chance to play table tennis competitively.
