HS Basketball Tournament

In January WZIS Eagles participated in the regional QISN basketball tournament in Qingdao:

Led by four veteran starters from last year’s squad, the boys got off to a hot start in the tournament, cruising to a shutout win over their first opponent and easily handling their second opponent. The knockout stages proved to be more difficult, as the Eagles came two points shy of advancing to the championship game. Overall, the boys went 4-1 throughout the tournament, finishing in 3^rd place.

For the first time in school history, WZIS sent a girls’ basketball team to take part in the QISN tournament. The girls were the surprise story of the tournament. The girls showed great teamwork and composure down the stretch, winning their first two games by a combined difference of three points. They went on to finish 2-2 for the tournament, earning them a worthy 4^th place finish.
